CD patients have high titres of anti-gliadin antibodies. Error bars represent mean and standard deviation and the horizontal dotted lines indicate 2 standard deviations from the control mean titre. Triangle symbol within graphs denotes twin sibling CD patients. (d) Western blot of wheat gliadin extract probed with serum from CD and control patients for IgG antibodies specific to gliadin, and a rabbit anti-gliadin antibody (SG). The CD patients had a strong yet heterogeneous pattern of immunoreactivity to gliadin.
